OXFORD DIECAST MODEL 76BI004 BEADLE INTEGRAL - SOUTHDOWN
As reported on 21st March, Oxford Diecast are now issuing replacement interiors for the above model so that the internal seating is correctly aligned with the passenger door.

My replacement seats arrived today and I have now fitted them. I have attached a number of photographs including the instructions issued by Oxford Diecast. The hardest part of the process for me, was the initial loosening of the body shell. I used a very fine jeweller’s flat head screwdriver, but it was still difficult to get between the body work and the base plate.

It is not mentioned on the instructions, but when fitting the new seats and replacing the base plate, you need to hold the seat unit against the base plate and slide the two units into the front underside of the body shell together, otherwise if you put the seats into the body shell separately, there it is not enough room between the base plate and the seat unit to align the base plate with the two pegs inside the body shell. I hope that makes sense!

I have attached photographs showing before and after, the two seat units and the Oxford Diecast instructions. If you have not yet ordered your replacements seats from Oxford, the details of how to do this are on my post of 21st March (below).

NORTHCORD MODEL COMPANY - PRESS RELEASE
The following press release has been received from The Northcord Model Company this morning:

UKBUS6509 ADL Enviro400H MMC - Abellio London

Northcord Model Company is pleased to announce the release of UKBUS6509, the third release of the long awaited 10.3 metre 2-door casting of this distinctive, modern, double-decker in the United Kingdom.

The third livery to be carried on the brand-new Alexander Dennis Enviro400H MMC model, is Abellio London with standard London red livery.

UKBUS6509 represents fleet number 2616 (SN18 KLJ) that has 10.3 metre, dual-door bodywork and was new to Abellio London in 2018. 2616 has a Euro6 hybrid driveline and the newly released model demonstrates the special cooling apertures that are appropriate to this hybrid bus. The model carries the roof fleet number ABL2616.

This bus is based at Abellio London’s Walworth Depot where it operates on busy route 196 which runs between Elephant & Castle and Newington Causeway.

The Alexander Dennis Enviro400H MMC UKBUS6509 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-cornered, patented quick-release windows of the real bus and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on the UKBUS6509 model is its dual individual tree protectors at the front. The front dome on the model is significant, with curved windscreens on both upper deck and lower deck.

Northcord Model Company is also creating new design standards within the interior of both saloons. These features, inside the compartments, will represent the real, outstanding layout of the Enviro400H MMC, such as the additional ventilation equipment on the upper deck ceiling, and the extensive portrayal of handrails on upper deck and lower deck, etc.

The brand new Enviro400H MMC bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), 80M Bus Model Shop and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The UKBUS6509 model is limited to 1200 pieces worldwide.

PHOTOGRAPH ADDED TO GALLERY PAGES
Looking through my photographs of the 2016 show in readiness for this years South East Bus Festival at the Kent Show Ground, Maidstone in two weeks time on Saturday 6th April, I found a photograph of a Bournemouth University Mercedes Citaro Artic which I forgot I had taken. This bus was to be represented in model form by Creative Master Northcord before their troubles as model UKBUS5113 but has since been put on hold and it is not known if it will be released.

OXFORD DIECAST MODEL 76BI004 BEADLE INTEGRAL - SOUTHDOWN
The above model which was released during December 2018, was issued with the incorrect body interior meaning that a seat can be seen blocking the passenger door. Oxford Diecast have announced that they will be issuing the correct interiors free of charge for collectors so that they can swap them over:

".... if you are interested in receiving the corrected interior for 76BI004 which shows the centre entrance, please email me eloise@oxforddiecast.co.uk You will need to unscrew the base and the interior can be swapped over. Please send your name and address. If you require more than 1, I require a copy of your receipt. There is no charge for this".

In other Oxford Diecast news, Oxford Diecast have now set up their own official Facebook page, go onto Facebook and search for Oxford Diecast to find it.

NORTHCORD MODEL COMPANY - PRESS RELEASE
The following press release has been received today from the Northcord Model Company:

ADL Enviro400 MMC

UKBUS6508A / 6508B National Express West Midlands

Following the significant success in launching the brand new casting of the Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC model in the livery of Go-Ahead London, National Express West Midlands, Stagecoach London & Stagecoach in Oxfordshire, First Bristol, Reading Buses and Bluestar, Northcord Model Company is releasing the tenth and eleventh versions - UKBUS6508A and UKBUS6508B - in the livery of Platinum X1 of National Express West Midlands.

UKBUS6508A / 6508B represents fleet number 6843 (SN66 WFM) that has 10.9 metre, single door bodywork and was new to National Express West Midlands in 2017. 6843 carries a full and colourfully branded livery for Platinum X1. The special, comprehensive livery and branding are 100% reproduced onto the UKBUS6508A and 6508B models.

The stand-out features of the branding are : “Birmingham I NEC & Airport I Coventry”, “up to every 20 minutes” frequency, and the prominent route number “X1” along with the key locations served that are repeated on each side (“Fast via Coventry Road) and on the front, upper windscreen and the rear (Fast between Sheldon, Yardley, Birmingham City Centre”). Fares details are carried in the first nearside window. On the nearside panels and engine access door, wording refers to the extra legroom available on board in addition to the “comfier seats” whilst the offside advertises the “greener emissions, free WiFi and next stop announcements”.

The model also correctly portrays the name “Connie” that is carried on the front, below the windscreen on the nearside, and on the rear, at the top of the engine cover on the offside, of the bus 6843.

Both UKBUS6508A and 6508B operate on route X1. UKBUS6508A is showing the destination Coventry, whilst UKBUS6508B shows Birmingham.

The Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC UKBUS6508A / 6508B is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square, gasket-mounted windows and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on the UKBUS6508A / 6508B models is the provision of a single tree protector at the front. The front dome on the model is significant, with curved windscreens on both upper deck and lower deck.

Northcord Model Company is also creating new design standards within the interior of both saloons. These features, inside the compartments, will represent the real, outstanding layout of the Enviro400 MMC, such as the extensive portrayal of handrails on upper deck and lower deck, etc.

The brand new 10.9 metre Enviro400 MMC bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), 80M Bus Model Shop and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The UKBUS6508A and 6508B models are each limited to 600 pieces worldwide respectively.

CORGI ANNOUNCE 2019 CATALOGUE
Corgi have announced their new catalogue, which appears to be for the whole of 2019. The bad news is NO new OOC buses have been announced for 2019 and the Fusilier Gift set mentioned last year in their collectors club magazine is not mentioned.

Two new buses are announced as part of other ranges. The Harry Potter Knight bus is being re-released CC99726 and the Scottish souvenir Routemaster which I featured last year is listed as model CC82330.

The 2019 catalogue on the whole seems to feature aviation, military and cars. No trucks are announced. In all very disappointing for bus enthusiasts. Hopefully this lack of new Models does not signal the final demise of the OOC range.
