Christmas draws near and this is the event to bring the year to an end in a happy way with opportunities to spend your money on transport memorabilia from books to models, photos to spare parts.

Part of our collection of historic buses and coaches will again move to one side to make way for nearly a hundred stalls, stands and sellers offering everything from books about Wigan’s buses to genuine Stockport Corporation Transport ticket machines, and from photos of long-gone trams to real bus stops. An unusual shopping trip can be capped with a ride back in time, as a free heritage bus service using old double-deckers from the 1960s and 1970s will link the Museum with Manchester’s Victoria railway station throughout both days of the event.

If you are unable to attend the event then you needn't miss out as the models will also be available to purchase by mail order from 5th December or by calling the museums shop on 0161 205 2122 any Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday between 10.00am and 4.30pm.

They will also be available from The Museum of Transport Greater Manchester's online shop at www.motgmshop.co.uk

BRITISH MODEL BUSES IN "THE LONDONER" - LONDON BUS CLUB MAGAZINE
I was recently delighted to be asked by Ken Carr from Visions International and the London Bus Club to write a regular column on news from the model world with a particular emphasis on London operators and models with a London connection. JOTUS COMMISSIONED IRISH KD - PRE-PRODUCTION PHOTOGRAPHS
Further to my news of 24th October, Adrian Lemon has now sent me pre-production sample photographs of both models. Adrian advises me that there will be 150 pieces of each model and almost all have already been pre-ordered. There are still some amendments to be made to the models from the photographs shown but stock is expected during January/February. If you would like to pre-order one of the models you can do so via posting a message on the Irish model buses Facebook page or private message Adrian or Derek from the Facebook page.
