TWO NEW KITS FROM KINGSWAY MODELS
Kingsway Models have announced the release of two new kits featuring
Sevenoaks bus station building and Hackney central area bus garage.

Sevenoaks Bus Station
Photograph 1 CLICK HERE
The bus station building at Sevenoaks was an unmistakable example of LT architecture. It provided waiting room accommodation for passengers, an office and canteen for staff, and toilets. The real building was situated at the rear of a parade of shops but the kit has a plain rear wall that can be used. Alternatively if you are happy with a half relief building then the matching brickwork might
be used around the bus station. The building comes on a paved base measuring approximately 15" x 3.5". Price: £11 including UK postage

Hackney Bus Garage

The Garage opened in 1911, replacing nearby horse bus stables. Updated after the second war it was responsible for operating several
important routes until closure in 1981 when it was replaced by the newly built Ash Grove garage. The model measures approximately 22” by 6” plus paving along the front. Price: £14 including postage to UK.

CONFIRMED EFE RELEASE FROM LT MUSEUM
Many thanks to Geoff Baker who advised he has received an email from the LT Museum shop advising that they now have stock of GS83 LT Green on route 316. I hope to confirm full details and publish photographs later this week.

EFE 29628 TRENT OLYMPIAN - CHANGE OF DESTINATION
EFE have advised me of a change in destination on the above model. The model will now carry the destination of the "Black Orchid" with no route number. Being unfamiliar with the area I understand this is was a night club which the real bus was regularly used on route to.

SCOTTISH BUS MUSEUM COMMISSIONED MODEL UKBUS0037
I have received an email from Susan Cameron regarding the above model. Susan explains that
she has no models left. The model was well over subscribed, the reason being that rather than the 300 models commissioned models ordered she only received 56 ----- 44 with certificates & 12 without. She further advised that she keeps meticulous records so they were offered to the people who enquired earliest. A great number of people will no doubt be disappointed as at least 150 people have bought every model she has commissioned. The certificates say the models are part of a run of 300, but a subsequent e-mail from Danny Chan says the 44 are the best he can do.

CORGI OOC OM41226A/B WRIGHT ECLIPSE GEMINI - THE LANCASHIRE WAY
Corgi have sent me  a selection of updated pre-production and some explanatory text:

Corgi is pleased to reveal the latest pre-production shots of OM41226A/B Wright Eclipse Gemini The Lancashire Way, X41. Due for release in September this 1:76 scale die-cast model comes as a dual destination split run. OM41226A is on route to Manchester while OM41226B heads in the opposite direction to Blackburn via Accrington.

Lancashire United is a subsidiary of Transdev Blazefield running local services in and around Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and further afield across Lancashire. Routes run under the Lancashire United names as well as the ‘Spot On’ and ‘Lancashire Way’ brands which have operated since 2007. With a fleet of low floor buses in a purple and biscuit livery, these vehicles had brought a new level of quality for customers travelling in Blackburn, Darween and Hyndburn. Services to Manchester are known as the Lancashire Way.

CORGI COLLECTORS CLUB - CLUB MODEL 2012
Issue 228 of The Corgi Collector magazine arrived today  and gives details of the 2012 model which will be free to Collectors Club members who paid the subscription to include the free bus. I have copied the news article below:

OOC Enthusiasts treated to a 'ROYAL’ Club Bus in 2012

"Corgi have scooped some prestigious events in 2012 to celebrate in model style, all of which are selling fast and furiously in celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee and the forthcoming London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We have been spoilt for choice when considering our 2012 Original Omnibus Company Collectors exclusive club model. We could have taken a NewBus4London or a patriotic Diamond Jubilee theme but Instead have gone North of the Border to Edinburgh, where Lothian Buses have recently introduced another ‘Royal’ bus. We have chosen to bring you a highly attractive limited Edition 500 unit run of the Wright Eclipse Urban 2 ‘Queen of Scots’, which runs round Scotland’s capital city on Route 49.

We know you love Scottish liveries in general and you can add this latest Lothian Buses liveried model to your fleet of previous Corgi releases which have worn the established bus company’s graphics. This very modem bus is decorated in the signature maroon (madder) and white Lothian Buses colour scheme and features an ice blue roof and Queen of Scots’ graphics on the sides and rear.

We’ll be bringing you more news on the expected delivery of this delightful Club model shortly".

NORTH WEALD BUS RALLY
I attended the Rally on Sunday and was saddened to hear the announcement during the afternoon that this would be the last North Weald rally. Jim Blake the organiser explained how falling numbers of stall holders and exhibitors (not helped by a number of deaths during the year of regular stall holders and bus owners) has meant the Show has now become financially unviable. It is having to be subsidised by the NLTS's other activities. I for one was very sad to hear of the Shows demise. I have really enjoyed going to North Weald over the years especially with it being relatively local for me.

There was no model news announced at the Show although TTC Diecast did have a sample of their Optare Versa Arriva Midlands X38 model on their stall.
