Omnidekka Models published two items of news last week:
"Reading Buses YX64VLW ENVIRO 200 11.3M - I will be opening for pre-orders from August with a planned July 2023 release. This will come in the following routes

115 of each route will be made, only 100 will be for sale and the price will be around £40 each".

UKBUS6528 ADL Enviro400H MMC - Stagecoach London

Northcord Model Company is pleased to announce the release of UKBUS6528, the sixth release of the 10.3 metre, 2-door casting of this distinctive, modern, double-decker in the United Kingdom.

The sixth livery to be carried on the brand-new Alexander Dennis Enviro400H MMC model, is Stagecoach London, produced in unique London red livery.

UKBUS6528 represents fleet number 11035 (SN18KUB) that has 10.3 metre, dual-door bodywork and was new to Stagecoach London in 2018. 11035 has a Euro6 smart hybrid driveline, together with an innovative high resolution LED destination display. The model carries the roof fleet number SCG 11035.

This bus is based at Stagecoach London’s West Ham Garage where it operates on busy route 474 which runs between Canning Town and Manor Park.

The bus running on the street of London used to have the traditional roller sign in order to suit the complicated service network in the city. With the popularity of electronic destination blinds in other cities all over England, Scotland and Wales, London buses are keeping the roller sign until the introduction of high resolution LED signs produced by Hanover. With the significantly increased number of LEDs on the new signs, the text displayed appears as continuous screen printing, rather than as a dot matrix. The integrity of the chosen font is maintained and, even in poor weather conditions such as heavy rain, or in bright sunshine, the legibility of the sign remains excellent. The special, comprehensive high resolution LED destination blind is 100% reproduced onto the UKBUS6528 model.

The Alexander Dennis Enviro400H MMC UKBUS6228 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-cornered, patented quick-release windows of the real bus and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on the UKBUS6528 model is its individual tree protector at the front. The front dome on the model is significant, with curved windscreens on both upper deck and lower deck.

Northcord Model Company is also creating new design standards within the interior of both saloons. These features, inside the compartments, will represent the real, outstanding layout of the Enviro400H MMC, such as the extensive portrayal of handrails on upper deck and lower deck, etc. Further additional detail carried by the model include the special sunlight protection shade on the top of the front upper windscreen.

The brand new Enviro400H MMC bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), 80M Bus Model Shop and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The UKBUS6528 model is limited to 1008 pieces worldwide.

UKBUS6526 ADL Enviro400 MMC - National Express West Midlands

Following the significant success in launching the brand new casting of the Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC model in the liveries of National Express West Midlands, Stagecoach in Oxfordshire, Bluestar, Stagecoach West Scotland, Southern Vectis, Stagecoach South, Ensign Bus and Xplore Dundee, Northcord Model Company is now releasing the thirteenth livery on the 10.9 metre long, single-door casting – UKBUS6526 in the livery of National Express West Midlands with SmartVision camera mirrors in place of traditional driver rear-view mirrors.

UKBUS6526 represents fleet number 6937 (SK68MJE) was new to National Express West Midlands in early 2019. In addition to being the first to have the innovative SmartVision camera mirrors bus in the fleet, 6937 carries a full and colourfully branded livery for Platinum X10. Such unique feature, and the special, comprehensive livery and branding are 100% reproduced onto the UKBUS6526 models.

The stand-out features on the branding are : “up to every 20 mins” frequency on all sides. The prominent route number “X10” is carried on both sides and the rear, whilst “FAST along Hagley Road” is carried on the top of the front destination glass, “Halesowen to city centre” and “FAST along Hagley Road” on the nearside above the entrance door and, on the rear, “Merry Hill | Halesowen | then FAST Quinton | Bearwood | city centre” is prominent. Fares details are carried on some windows on each lower deck side. Within the advert panels on each side and on the rear, lower window wording refers to the extra legroom available on board in addition to the comfy seats.

The model also correctly portrays the name “Brooke Yvie” that is carried on the front, below the windscreen on the nearside, and on the rear, at the top of the engine cover on the offside, of the bus 6937.

Herewith we itemise an update on likely release dates and status for announced models in the UKBUS6500 and UKBUS6800 range. In addition, two further future releases are announced.

Production delays due to shortage of appropriate labour in all factories in southern China are affecting many manufacturers and it is appropriate that NMC should advise you accordingly. Furthermore, the usual delays will be accommodated due to the return of factory staff to their provinces during Lunar New Year and the resultant need to recruit staff to replace those who do not return to the factories and to train their replacements.

The continuing influence of Covid is also having a negative impact on the timescale of our release schedule because of the inability to have face-to-face meetings at the production facilities which has slowed down the decision-making process in approving the minutiae of our models.

UKBUS6500 Range

UKBUS6526 – National Express West Midlands (6937 – SK68MJE) : production is scheduled for completion by early January 2022. 

UKBUS6528 – Stagecoach London (11035 – SN18KUB) : production is scheduled for completion by late February 2022.

UKBUS6525 – First Glasgow (33393 – SK19EOD) : pre-production samples are being prepared with an anticipated production slot being available during early May 2022.

UKBUS6800 Range

The preparation of the new casting of ADL Enviro400 City on Trident 2 and BYD ADL Enviro400EV City is scheduled to be commenced in the second part of 2022. The newly developed comprehensive casting will initially include the following versions of Britain’s best-selling double-decker buses:

1. 10.8 metre 1 & 2 door BYD ADL Enviro400EV City
2. 10.9 metre 1 & 2 door Enviro400 City Trident 2-chassised to follow as a continuation of the previous Enviro400 MMC Licence Agreement 

Northcord Model Company will make an announcement in detail about planned liveries and model dimensions nearer to its launch date. The range will be expanded with the shorter versions of each type in due course.
