CREATIVE MASTER NORTHCORD - PRESS RELEASE

Dennis/TransBus Mini Pointer Dart

UKBUS3004 – Stagecoach Twin-Pack

CMNL is releasing its first Twin-Pack of UK outline bus models, which contains 2 Stagecoach Mini Pointer Darts – 34375x (LV52 HGN) that was delivered to Stagecoach London during 2003 and 33088 (T35 JCS) that was delivered to Stagecoach Western Buses in 1999 for service in Dumfries.

This Twin-Pack will create a certain noise from the British bus model collectors, not only because of the luxurious and eye-catching packaging, but for the detailed MPD replicas.

This one-piece casting’s clean lines accentuate the gasket windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. The model also features excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door, showing the detailed, environmentally friendly Euro 3 engine. All grab rails feature inside the replica and in their correct positions and colours. The construction method of this replica permits realistic-looking front and rear lights – in particular the transparent headlamp and translucent indicator unit and translucent red aspect to the rear lamp assemblies with tampo-printed indicator and reversing light add realism to the replicas.

As the two MPDs are serving in different areas, their liveries show significant differences.

34375x is featured operating on route 380 from Lewisham to Belmarsh in South East London, which Stagecoach London operates under contract to Transport for London. Route 380 operates to a daytime frequency of around every 12 minutes and is operated primarily with 28 seat Mini Pointer Darts as the residential nature of the route prevents larger vehicles being used.

33088 is featured on Stagecoach Western route 5B to Calside via Town Centre. Dumfries, a town in the south west of Scotland near to the border with England and closely associated with famous Scots poet Robert Burns, is still primarily rural in nature. The Mini Pointer Dart fully accessible low floor vehicle brings quality travel to the Dumfries Town bus network.

The UKBUS3004 Twin-Pack is presented in an elegant box. The two Darts are covered with a specially designed blister, which provides a safe cushion for the 2 models. However, because they are not held in place by screws, collectors should be very careful when opening the special box. CMNL suggests that collectors should place the box on a firm surface and open the lid carefully to avoid the models falling away from their supporting plastic blister.

The brand new UKBUS3004 Stagecoach MPD Twin-Pack bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. This Twin-Pack is a very limited edition of only 1200 sets, distributed worldwide.

CREATIVE MASTER NORTHCORD - PRESS RELEASE

TransBus Mini Pointer Dart

UKBUS3002 – First Cymru

Further to the recent releases of the bus replicas with Welsh bus operator liveries, CMN is releasing its third bus model with a Welsh destination. This is UKBUS3002, a First Cymru MPD.

The First Cymru MPD replica carries the fleet number 43840 and registration number SN53 ETE. It is one of six Mini Pointer Darts supplied to First in South Wales during 2004 and is allocated to Ammanford depot.

Although First operates very few MPDs, their allocation to areas like Ammanford means that passengers can enjoy the benefits of a full-size single-decker – wide throat and super low-floor access for easy manoeuvrability of wheelchairs and buggies – within an overall length more suited to rural operation.

The 43840 generally works a complex diagram throughout the day that will see it operate on a variety of routes based on Ammanford.

This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the bonded windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. The model also features excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door, showing the detailed environmentally friendly Euro 3 engine. All grab rails feature inside the replica and in their correct positions. The construction method of this replica permits realistic-looking front and rear lights – in particular the front headlamp / indicator assembly whose headlamp is transparent and indicator is translucent.

The brand new UKBUS3002 First Cymru MPD bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively.

TWO NEW MODELS ANNOUNCED BY RAMBLERS HOLIDAYS
Further to the recently announced Corgi OOC Code 3 4Q4 model (See News article dated 5 Aug 2004 CLICK HERE to view) Ramblers Holidays have announced two further models. Firstly a Code 2 model produced by EFE and secondly a Code 3 based on a Corgi OOC model. Please see below for details:

Code 2 EFE SRT
"This model is based on EFE model 10122 and is a RAMBLERS bus. It is red SRT 1 operating as it did on route 351 to St Albans from Watford depot. Before the age when we all had cars the country area needed extra capacity at weekends for the city hordes who came to enjoy the country and SRT 1 was one of such vehicles. The production run will be about 550 models and delivery is expected at the end of September so cheques can be dated 30 Sep 2004. This will be a model to Ramblers usual high standard".

Code 3 Corgi OOC Bradford City Tramways
"Corgi Bradford City Tramways double deck Q OM45702 has been reprinted by Contour Equipment who print for EFE, as a wartime vehicle with the front blind "On Loan to London Transport" and the destination 142 Watford. It carries side adverts "Do you shop at Watford New Hope Trust ?...we do.". It is to raise money for the Trust, which is for the homeless, based in Watford. 239 models have been produced and they come with a numbered certificate as a tribute to both the Trust and the dozens of companies who loaned vehicles to London during the war."

Models can be obtained from Rev Stuart Alderman, 7 Heath Farm Court, Grove Mill lane, Watford, WD17 3TT at a cost of:

Code 2 EFE SRT1 £22.50 plus £1.50 P&P
Code 3 Corgi OOC Bradford City Tramways Q £19.80 plus £1.50 P&P.

Cheques payable to Mr S Alderman. Please note if ordering both models please send a separate cheque for each model as the dispatch dates are different and each cheque can be banked at the appropriate time.

TWO NEW CASTINGS ANNOUNCED BY CREATIVE MASTER NORTHCORD LTD
Please find below the official press release issued this morning by Creative Master Northcord Ltd:

Creative Master Northcord Limited

News Release: Embargoed until 09.00 (UK time) 20th August 2004

CMNL announces its new castings for winter 2004 – 2005

CMNL is proud to announce two new castings that have been developed for the UK 1:76 diecast collectible market.

The UKBUS4000 range will feature what many consider to be the ultimate development of the Alexander ‘R’ type – the Royale body, based on a Volvo Olympian chassis. The model will feature the full-height, long wheelbase body. The body style was chosen by a few prominent operators in the UK including Lothian Buses - in 1-door and 2-door formats, First – in Barbie 1, Barbie 2 and First Express liveries - and London United Airbus – with air conditioning – and subsequent operators including TWM and National Express Ltd.

(A Singaporean version of the Royale will also feature in the forthcoming UKBUS 4000 range).

The launch model, UKBUS4001, will feature Lothian Buses’ 2-door vehicle 268 (registered P268 PSX). This model will introduce ‘general’ adverts, applied to the model in advert frames, for the first time on a CMNL UKBUS model. This launch model should complete its production schedule during December 2004.

A second family will also be introduced during the coming winter – the Mercedes Benz Citaro will enter the market during early 2005. Despite its bad publicity in London during the year, CMNL is sure that this will be a popular casting.

Early indications are that the UKBUS5001 launch model of the 2-axle rigid body will be in the livery of First London’s RV1 route. The UKBUS5101 launch model of the 3-axle articulated Citaro will be in Mercedes Benz demonstration colours as seen on BU53 ZWV operating on route 436 in London and this will be followed by one of Stagecoach in London’s most recent deliveries for route 25, as UKBUS5102.

NEW MODEL FROM RAMBLERS HOLIDAYS
After a break of almost two years, a new model is to be released by Ramblers Holidays. I am grateful to Stuart Alderman for sending me the below information:

Ramblers Holidays have announced that production of a "Code 3" Corgi Q as one of their fleet is underway (the donor model being Corgi OOC 4Q4 model OM41004). It is London Transport's red Q53, BXD 574, with a closed door, operating from West Green depot (WG6) on route 233 to Finsbury Park Station.

Nigel Mitchell of London Bus repaints will be producing the blinds, numbers, advertisements etc. The production run will be approx 300 and September delivery is planned. As with Ramblers' EFE RF (23301A) a roof ad states "Leave the country - On a Ramblers holiday". The rear is adorned with a small ad stating "Join the Ramblers Association". A small information board on the front onside window carries the message "To and from Alexandra Park".

Cost including P&P is £26.25. Orders are now being taken but delivery is not expected till September so cheques can be dated 10 September 2004 and made payable to S Alderman at 7 Heath Farm Court, Grove Mill Lane, Watford, WD17 3TT. Telephone number 01923 251506. Cheques will not be banked until the model is ready to be dispatched and local collection from Heath Farm is possible by arrangement and with a refund of the P&P element.

Please DO NOT contact Ramblers' Holidays at Welwyn Garden City regarding Ramblers bus models, as they are now being with by Stuart Alderman, their old boss in retirement! All contact should therefore be via Stuart at the address and telephone number above.

People who were on the Ramblers mailing list will be sent an order form once the model is about to be delivered but can pre-order if they wish, by contacting the above.

CREATIVE MASTER NORTHCORD - PRESS RELEASE

Stagecoach in Manchester

UKBUS2010 TransBus President-bodied Trident

Following the great success of its single door Alexander ALX400-bodied Dennis Trident replica (UKBUS1012) in late 2003, Creative Master Northcord Limited (CMNL) has proudly released its second Stagecoach Manchester liveried-Trident replica -- UKBUS2010, with TransBus President bodywork. It will again be the focus of attention from bus model collectors as well as from bus enthusiasts.

The Plaxton / TransBus President is one of the most popular double-deck bodies in the UK, particularly when fitted to the Dennis Trident chassis. Stagecoach acquired this batch of President-bodied Tridents in 2003 and most of them were introduced in Manchester. They are 10.5m long and have the low-height version of the President body with an overall height of 4.2m.

The replica features excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door and engine detail. This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the gasket windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible.

Additionally, UKBUS2010 brings some significant achievements to mirror options Stagecoach sought for its exclusive requirements : e.g. there is a horizontal handrail on the upper deck windscreen, a new anti-branch feature, an additional partition on the driving cab, new seating arrangement in the lower saloon, LEDs at the rear, new rear bumper, etc. Both ceilings are completely painted presenting the real colour on the buses.

The replica carries the fleet number 18030, registration MX53 FLK, which entered service in the autumn of 2003.

The brand new single door Plaxton President double-deck bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The UKBUS2010 model is limited to 1800 pieces worldwide.
